Workforce One: Password Changes
As part of the preparation and incremental rollout for increased password security, changes were implemented today that may have created a negative experience for our users. These standards will take effect for all new companies. They will only take effect for existing companies if the Password Preferences widget within the Company Settings page is saved. If you do not wish to use the new settings, do not save the page containing the Password Preferences widget. The following new standards have been implemented.
- For all new accounts, users will be forced to change their password on the first login. • The new minimum standard for password length is 8.
- The minimum standard for password complexity is 4 (at least: one upper case, one lower case, one number, one symbol
- The new standard for password history is 10 previous passwords, meaning they cannot reuse the same password again within 10 times.
- All users attempting to sign in with incorrect passwords will only have 5 attempts within 5 minutes before being locked out for 30 minutes.
Going forward, you will be notified prior to changes being made. We apologize for any disruption or inconvenience this may have caused today.
